In Ukraine, the app started to send out alarming fake messages late on Sunday night
My colleague, Luke Harding in Kyiv, has also filed this dispatch from the Ukrainian capital where residents received those fake alerts last night, saying they were at risk of an imminent nuclear strike.
Many residents ignored the alerts, which began shortly before 11pm local time, assuming that the app had been compromised.
