Brisbane has just recorded its wettest 24 hours in over half a century, and its fifth wettest day on record, but meteorologists say the rainfall is set to moderately ease today in south-east Queensland and northern NSW.
To 9am on Monday, some 275.2mm of rain fell – a level not seen since 314 mm fell to 9am on 26 January, 1974 – the same year the Brisbane River flooded in the wake of Tropical Cyclone Wanda.
